How to Play
Clear Arrows – Puzzle Escape
Remove all arrows from the grid without causing collisions and without losing all your lives. Clear Arrows is a free logic puzzle that runs right in your browser – no sign-up and no installation.
Tapping arrows
Tap an arrow to remove it. An arrow can only be removed if its path in the direction it points is clear all the way to the edge, so no other arrow stands in front of it in that direction. This gives you an order that you have to find.
A blocked arrow is not specially marked: whether its path is clear, you can tell from the cells in front of the arrow. Tapping a blocked arrow costs a life; remove the arrow that stands in its way first.
The colour of a normal arrow only shows the direction it points: up lime, right green, down lavender blue, left rose (with a purchased skin, the skin’s colour applies). In levels with coloured arrows, on the other hand, a fixed order of red, blue and green applies.
Collisions and lives
Tapping a blocked arrow costs a life. You start with 3 lives; every wrong move costs one. At 0 lives the game is over. So always check whether the path is clear.
Combo and score
Correct moves in a row build up a combo multiplier (×1, ×2, ×3, ×4). Wrong moves reset the combo. A high combo brings more points – and from level 11, where a clock is running, more time as well.
Coins
Coins are the in-game currency. You earn them by finishing levels and spend them on assists.
- Starting balance: 30 coins on first launch.
- Daily reward: +5 coins the first time you open the game each day.
- Level reward: 1 star = 10, 2 stars = 20, 3 stars = 35 coins.
- First-clear bonus: +15 coins the first time you finish a level.
Assists during a level
- Hint (question mark): briefly highlights one possible next move. If you have bought Hints in the Shop, one from your stock is used first, and the Hint costs no life. Without stock it costs a life, but no coins; on your last life it is then locked. Either way it lowers your star rating: after a Hint you get at most one star.
- Solution move (key): shows the next valid move in gold for two seconds and then removes it automatically. Costs 10, 20, 35 or 50 coins, depending on difficulty.
- Magic Solve (wand): plays the next valid move for you automatically. Uses a Magic Solve from your stock first; without stock it costs 15, 30, 50 or 75 coins, depending on difficulty.
- Undo: takes back your last move. Free, as long as there is a move to take back.
Hints and Magic Solves for your stock are available in the Shop for coins; the number on the button shows how many you have left.
Difficulty mechanics
Eight mechanics are built into the game, and five of the eight currently take effect; Move limit, Anti-arrows and Dynamic traps are not switched on in any level.
- Timer – in levels 1–50, 53, 55, 57: time limit. When the time runs out, it costs a life: the clock restarts and the combo drops to zero. From level 11, every correct move gives time back, +7 s × combo multiplier, at most 28 s per move and never more than the level’s starting time.
- Move limit – built in, currently not active in any level: a limited number of moves, wrong ones count too.
- Shifting Grid – in levels 11–50, 52, 54–57: every few moves, all arrows turn by 90 degrees.
- Cascade traps – in levels 16–50, 53, 56: a wrong tap on a trap costs one extra life for every armed trap directly next to it.
- Hidden mode – in levels 21–51, 54, 56: arrows are hidden; a tap reveals the surrounding cells for two moves.
- Coloured arrows – in levels 52, 54–57: fixed order: red, blue, green.
- Anti-arrows – built in, currently not active in any level: when an anti-arrow is removed, the next arrow in the direction it points becomes a trap.
- Dynamic traps – built in, currently not active in any level: traps only become armed after a certain number of moves.
What each one means and how it feels to play is explained on the Mechanics page.
Daily Challenge
Every day there is a new, unique puzzle; all players worldwide play the same level. Play every day to grow your streak – if you miss a day, it starts again from scratch. The best scores of the Daily Challenge are saved separately.
Achievements and leaderboard
The game has unlockable achievements, for example for flawless levels, combos or streaks. They appear as a pop-up and are listed on the statistics page.
The leaderboard shows your total score across all levels and your best runs per level with points, stars and time. Everything stays on this device.
Tips
- Start with arrows that point towards a corner or the edge – they are often the first ones you can remove.
- In Hidden mode: tap edge cells first to explore the pattern.
- Use Hints sparingly – they lower your star rating.
- With cascade traps, keep away from clusters of traps.
- When coloured arrows are in play, remove the red ones first.
- Save coins for hard levels – a Magic Solve can be decisive in expert levels.
- Keep the combo high for maximum points and time bonuses.
